APPLES WITH DUNFILLIAN PASTE

4 tablespoons flour
6 tablespoons butter
1 egg
1/2 teaspoonful baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup milk
1 1/2 lb. apples (6 apples)

Rub butter into flour, add baking powder, beat egg with sugar, add milk and stir all into flour, mix well.

Pour on top of stewed apples and bake in moderate oven for 1/2 hour.
(Top is like cake when cooked)
