MAPLE MOUSSE ICE CREAM

1 cup scalded milk
1 level tablespoon flour
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 pint thin cream
1 egg slightly beaten
1/2 cup Log Cabin syrup
1 tablespoon gelatine dissolved in 2 tablespoons cold water

Mix flour, sugar, salt, add egg slightly beaten and milk gradually.  cook over hot water 10 minutes stiring constantly at first.  Add gelatine and stir until melted.   Remove from stove, add syrup and cool.  Add cream and flavoring, strain and freeze.  Stir while freezing every 1/2 hour. Serves 8.
