PRUNES. FAMILY RECIPE
|Soak 1 lb. of prunes in 1 pint of cold water,
add 2 tablespoons of golden syrup and the very finely shredded rind of half a lemon.
Leave them to soak for 24 hours and then stew gently for 15 minutes in this liquid.
This method of cooking prunes given them a most delicate and pleasant flavor and served with a bowl of cream of rice this makes an excellent luncheon sweet.
