XMAS PUDDING
Old Family Recipe

1/4 lb. flour
1/4 lb. bread crumbs
1/4 lb. mixed peel
1/2 lb. currants
4 eggs
Teaspoon mixed spices
1/2 grated nutmeg
Wine glass brandy
1/2 lb. suet
1/2 lb. raisins
1/2 lb. sultanas
1/2 lb. sugar
1/2 lb. chopped apples
2 oz. cooking almonds
Juice of 2 lemons

Wash and clean fruit.  Rinse dry ingredients.  Blanch and chop almonds.   Beat eggs well and add to mixture.  Stir thoroughly.  Add brandy.   Pour into well greased basins.  Cover with buttered paper and pudding cloth.   Steam 6 hours.  And another 2 to 4 on day when eating it.
