2 yeast cakes
3/4 cup shortening
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/4 lb. butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups hot milk
cinnamon and brown sugar
About 8 cups of flour enough to     make a stiff dough

Dissolve yeast cakes in a little warm water, beat eggs, add white sugar, salt and shortening and hot milk.  Add flour.  Set aside to rise.  After it's risen roll out to about 1/2 inch thickness, spread with butter, sprinkle with brown sugar, cinnamon, and raisins if desired.  Roll up like jelly roll and cut into slices.   Put into pan which has been spread with a mixture of butter and brown sugar.   Set aside to rise again, then bake in hot oven.  As soon as baked turn out upside down to cool.  Makes about 5 dozen.
