1 full cup of walnuts
Put the walnuts through a mincing machine. You want sufficient when minced very fine to fill the cut very cull.
Put sugar into a bowl. Break the egg straight into the sugar and mix with a wooden spoon very well. then add sieved flour to this mixture and mix the milk. Put in the baking powder and the nuts last (a few seedless raisins help to make the breat a little more moist if desired). It is usually necessary to add a little more milk at the end (perhaps a good tablespoonful) to make the mixture less dry.
Grease a tin and put in the mixture. Put into a moderately hot oven and cook about 25 minutes to 1/2 an hor.
Test with skewer to see if cooked.
