3 cups Quaker Rolled Oats
1 cup molasses
1 cup shortening
2 dessert spoons salt.

Put these into large mixing bowl and add 4 cups of boiling water and mix.  Let stand until cool.  dissolve one cake of yeast into 1/2 cup of water and stir in.  then mix in enough flour to make a stiff dough.  Then knead in enough flour so that it comes out of your hand.  Let raise.  then knead again and let it raise again.   Make into loaves and bake one hour in moderate oven.
