MANGO CHUTNEY (Indian Recipe)


10 mangoes sliced
1/2 lb. raisins (stoned and quartered)
1 dessert spoon ground ginger
1 dessert spoon black pepper
1 lb. green apples
1 1/2 lbs. sugar
1 quart vinegar
4 cloves garlic
2 tbsp salt
1/2 lb. onions well chopped
1 tsp dry mustard

Cook apples, onions, garlic with salt, sugar, pepper and vinegar until soft, then press through sieve, add raisins, ginger, mustard andmangoes and cook till the misture thickens, then let cool and put into airtight jars.
