SWEET PICKLED PEACHES

Ingredients:

Peaches
1 pint vinegar
2 lbs. brown sugar
1 oz. stick of cinnamon
cloves

Skin peaches, by dipping in scalding water for one minute.   Halve and remove stones.  Stick 2 cloves into each half.  Make a syrup by boiling sugar and cinnamon in vinegar for 20 minutes and cook fruit in it until soft, a few at a time.   If using plums, leave out the cloves.
