YORKSHIRE PUDDING
To be eaten with Roast Beef

2 tablespoons flour (self raising or if not obtainable add teaspoonful of baking powder)
Pinch of salt
1 egg
1/3 pint of milk

Sift flour into basin.  Add salt.  Make hole in center of flour and crack in the egg.  Mix the flour in very gradually with the egg adding milk very slowly.   There must be no lumps.  Beat until mixture is like cream.  Pour into a dish, which has warm melted fat in it.  (One large knob of dripping will do).   Leave to stand for one hour before cooking (1/2 hour in fairly quick oven—under the meat).
