Hot Mulled Cider

 

1 qt. apple cider
1 cinnamon stick
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
lemon slices
2/3 c. brown sugar
8 whole cloves
1/4 tsp. ginger

Combine all except lemon slices in saucepan.  Cook and stir until sugar dissolves.  Bring to a boil.  Simmer covered for 10 minutes.  Serve hot in cups.  Garnish with a lemon slice.

8 servings.  For "zip" add a little rum or vodka to individual cups.   Makes a great holidy drink either way.
