Grandma Drueger's Never Fail Pie Crust

3 c. flour
1 scant tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 1/4 c. lard

Cut ingredients together until crumbly.


1 egg, beaten
5 Tbsp. water

1 tsp. vinegar

Mix above 3 ingredients together.
Now, mix steps one and two together.  Can wrap and keep in refrigerator in waxed paper or use what you need and freeze the rest in plastic bag until ready to use.   Use this for either pie recipe below or your own favorite.

Apple Pie Filling:

Peel and cut up enough apples to fill your pie pan.


1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
3 Tbsp. flour
dash of salt

Mix together and put in Grandma Krueger's pie crust.  Bake on lower rack of oven at 350 for one hour.

Pecan Pie Filling:

3 eggs
3/4 c. white Karo syrup
pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 c. white sugar
2 Tbsp. butter, melted
1 tsp. vinegar
1 c. pecans

Beat eggs until lemon color.  Add remaining ingredients and place into Grandma Krueger's pie crust.  Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.
