Barbecue Sauce For Spareribs

1/4 c. chopped onion 1 tbsp. vegetable oil

Saute onions in hot oil then add the following:

1/2 c. water
1/4 c. lemon juice
1 tbsp. Worcestershire
1/2 tsp. salt

2 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1 c. chili sauce
1/2 tsp. paprika

Simmer together for about 20 minutes.  This sauce is enough for 2 pounds of spareribs.  Pour over serving size pieces of ribs, cover with fil and bake at 450F, for 15 minutes then at 350F, for 1 hour.

Helpful hint:  If you boil the ribs for about 20-30 minutes you rend some of the fat, plump up the ribs and reduce the final baking time.
