Fiesta Salad

1 onion, thinly sliced
1 green pepper, chopped
2 c. fresh tomatoes, chopped
lettuce leaves
4 slices bacon
1/4 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. salt

Line salad bowl with crisp lettuce leaves. Separate onon slices, place in salad bowl with green pepper and tomatoes.  Fry bacon until crisp, remove and drain on paper towel.   Pour off bacon drippings, reserve 2 tablespoons in fry pan.  Stir in vinegar, sugar, chili powder and salt.  Heat to boiling.  Pour over vegetables and toss lightly.  Crumble bacon, sprinkle over salad.
