Red Cabbage Slaw

1 head of red cabbage
1/2 to 1 c. Miracle Whip
2 to 4 tbsp. milk
1 onion
juice of 1 lemon
2 to 4 pkg. Equal

Quarter cabbage and wash well.  Shred or grate into large bowl.  Grate onion into cabbage.  Cover with water and ice and refrigerate for several hours.   Squeeze out water and put into serving bowl (conserve water to use when cooking soup, rice or chicken).

Make dressing by combining Miracle Whip and Equal.  Add milk and mix (mixture may be lumpy).  Add lemon juice and stir until smooth.  Pour over cabbage and refrigerate until serving time.  Stir just before serving.  Begin dressing with least amounts of ingredients and add more if desired.
