Cheese Grits Casserole


1 c. uncooked grits
4 c. water
1 small onion, diced
3 eggs, slightly beaten

1 tsp. salt
1/2 stick butter
1/2 lb. grated sharp cheddar
1/3 c. milk

Cooks grits in salted, boiling water until done, then add all other ingredients.   Stir until smooth.  Pour into buttered casserole dish and bake for 1 hour at 300.

Serves at least 8 people
