The Gamboa Rainforest Resort is scheduled to open in March 2000.  The restaurant opened in late 1999.  Besides building the Resort itself, the developer Mr. Herman Bern has renovated several former Panama Canal Commission 4-family houses into "two-bedroom villas".  This complex with a cost of $30 million will feature a 100-bed luxury hotel and spa as well as an orchid house, botanical gardens, golf and tennis.  Nature tours will also be offered.  This resort is located at the mouth of the Chagres River and the Panama Canal -- a most beautiful place.
