It's been awhile. Been sick off and on in the past two years.
I had done two Canal Zone parties while I was in Dallas.
Time to do another. I became best friends with Pam Horoda who helped me with second party we had a great turn out.
I haven't been h0me since 1981. I am told lost of changes. My parents go down every year.
I keep in touch with several zonians and we have a huge data base.

I extend an open invitation to visit our class home page. Future plans are to add the reunion pictures after July and before Christmas. Comments I went to Curundu Jr. High during 1976 and 1977. I lived on Fort Kobbe. The time I spent there were some of the most memorable of my life. Panama is still to this day the most beautiful place I have ever seen.

Comments Does anyone remember Jim Norris? He graduated from BHS I believe in 1970 or 1971.
We both served on Ft Amador from 1972-1974. I worked in the Adutant Generals Office just above the PX. I think it was called building 3. I lived in building 5. I remember the causeway with the shark net. Do you remember how incredibly well the officer's yards were keep up by the San Blas workers?. I rembember buying records at Gran Morrisons on Forth of July avenue. I remember eating pizza at Napolli's. I remember Panama, Balboa, and Atlas beers.

I work for an apparel company in Los Angeles called "RAMPAGE". I visit San Pedro Sula (Honduras) and Guatemala City monthly to monitor sewing quality of my companies apparel. Wish I could find a sewing factory in Panama to place work in so I could visit monthly! I am reluctant to visit because I remember the stark contract when you walked across the street from Balboa and entered the Limits. I am afraid when I return Ft Amador will look this way.

Comments I lived at Albrook AFB between 1948 and
1955.Our home was on Canfield. My mother
was Eleanor and father Henry. My brother
was Charles and sister Nora.My mother
worked near Albrook as a civil service
employee and my dad worked out of Rodman
Naval Base as a skipper on a crash boat.
Our good pals were Marvin Hughey and Lacy Brown (aka.Jones)As members of BSA
Troop #22,we were lucky enough to participate in the first ocean to ocean
race in 1954.This April we reunited for
the first time in almost 50 years and were honored in the opening and closing
ceremonies of the annual ocean to ocean
race,it also marked the 50th year of the
event.We visited our old homes in Albrook
and talked about all the fun things that
we used to do and the memories just kept
rolling.Another good pal was a neighbor
of ours, his name was Norman Dixon.He had this motorized bicycle and was the
envy of the neighbor hood.Just a foot note,my brother was awarded the coveted
Eagle Scout medal while the rest of us
played.I think that a piece of us will
always be there in what used to be the
Canal Zone.
