BHS CLASS OF 1968
Hello ’68 Bulldogs! Come and celebrate our 40th with us! Let’s remember the old times, but make and enjoy new times. We’re older and wiser J and have lots to share! Bring along albums and stories of what you have been doing and don’t forget pictures of your grandchildren…bragging is allowed! J
Here are the details so far: We will have a Hospitality Suite Thursday PM - Sunday AM and will have beverages (sodas, beer, and wine) and light snacks available. (We will hopefully have ceviche and empanadas as well!).
A cocktail hour and Panamanian dinner is planned for Friday night 6:00 PM/7:00 PM. The official photographer will stop by after dinner and take our class picture before we join the dance provided by the Panama Canal Society. "Shorty and Slim" will be entertaining us with their Bajen-Calypso-Raggae style music…the lyrics are typical of our memories of Panama and fun to sing and dance to. (A link to one of their songs is on our class website as well as a link where you can hear the one and only Lucho play. Check them out! ( www.balboa68.com )
We will meet in our Hospitality Suite Saturday night at 7:30 PM before going to hear Frankie Pretto and the Parranda Band play for our Latin dancing pleasure! We plan to have tables at both dances reserved for our class.
With the great summer sunshine some will be gathering poolside daily Thursday - Saturday at a designated BHS 68 area. On Sunday morning at 10:00 AM there will be a free Society "Despidida Farewell" featuring Panamanian dancers in full national and carnival costumes! The Society will offer a continental breakfast for a small fee. If you haven’t seen this before it is worth booking your airline later to see it. For those of you booking airlines, there are several other city possibilities if Orlando is hard to get: Sanford, FL (45 minutes away); Melbourne, Fl (50 minutes away) and Tampa, Fl (approximately 1 1/2 hours away).
The cost for all the "class" fun is only $75 per person. This covers your drinks, snacks for three days in the suite, the Class dinner, door prizes and a few others possibilities in the planning. Please send your check prior to May 31, payable to Tammy Doherty, to Tammy at 16230 48th Ave, SE, Everett, WA 98208. Should you experience a change in plans, reimbursement for the Class Dinner only will be available up to June 15.
If you plan to reserve a room at the reduced PCS rate you must be a member of the Panama Canal Society. You can join for $40.00, by going to www.pancanalsociety.org and scroll down to "On-Line Services" to join or renew, then go to reunion registration to reserve your hotel rooms, sign up for the golf tournament, and to purchase your tickets to the dances. There will be a Society Administrative Registration fee of $7.00, which will include your "goody" bag and nametag.
We need your help gathering current email addresses for our entire class. We want to reach as many as possible to give them the opportunity to attend this 40th reunion!
Please send this e-mail/announcement to all the classmates you have e-mail addresses for and ask them to visit our class website www.balboa68.com and sign in. If you have questions or contact information for classmates, you may contact any of the Committee members listed below. We sure hope to see you in Orlando!
