Comments: Happy New Year ! It is amazing to think that the time has come for the total turn-over of the canal from U.S. to Panama. I lived on the Pacific side 1970 to 1973 and have nothing but fond memories of life in Panama and in the CZ. I am sad to see the end of the U.S. era in the old Canal Zone, but am very happy to see the hand over has been peaceful. It is especially good to hear that the people of Panama still consider themselves friends with the people of the U.S. I hope we Americans do all we can to make sure Panama has a successful future and remains our friend. Panama es en me encantas. Terry

Comments: Feeling a bit homesick, thinking about what happens tomorrow at noon (12/31/99). I often do not feel quite at home here in the states, even though I moved here in '71, newly married. Must be all those years from birth in '48 to '71, growing up first on the Atlantic side and then moving to the nex' side. Graduated BHS '66 where I had great classmates and memories, such as boarding the train for the yearly big football game at Cristobal. There was a name for the event but I can't quite recall it. Would love to hear from anybody who can relate to things Zonian. Living now in Lake Elsinore, California, teaching high school Spanish and English.

Comments: This is to Bill Fall. Bill remember Mrs Greasy? Everytime she looked through the round window on the Balboa movie theater doors she left a grease spot! The tricks you and Ron Tremblay played on her. Wasn't it you that put a dead rat in the ticket bag? I remember Rubert Yard. I gave him an instrumental Beatles album to play before the movies. Balboa movie theater was the best place to work in the zone. I also remember that you nearly drowned me when I was trying out for a life guard certification. I never got it. I dont really think I wanted it all that badly. Do you remember me? we were always at odds with one another. Kitty Boggs

Comments: Wow! I have just read through all the guest books there are and I am deep in memories. I was back for the Last Graduation and like all the rest, CRIED, while looking up at the Administration Building on the hill. You can never go back home, but still some of the things are the same; the people, the jungle, the color of the dirt in the interior, the way the light is in the morning, the incredible sunsets, the feeling of mystery and excitement each day gave. It crowds my heart! Thank you for this site I could spend years investigating all the different possibilities that it offers me. I wrap my arms around you all.

Comments: Enjoyed the site specially the photos....it has been 44 years and counting...places I thought I would never see or hear about again. I lived at Albrook AFB from sept.1951 until may of 1955 and attended Balboa Jr. high and Balboa high school (7th. thru 10th. grades) would have been in the Class of 1957, except my father was transfered to California. Was in the first Cayuo race (May of 1954)...can not believe it is still going strong and grown to this magnitude. Would like to hear from anyone that may remember me. Thanks for the memories and keep up the good work.

Had some outrageous times, good times, sad times, but then again, isn't that what growing up is all about? It was the greastest place on earth to live, enjoy life, learn about it and grow.
