Comments Well... I need to know the REAL way to make meecha (sp) bread with stateside ingredients. I know it will NEVER be the same thing however I am in the process of opening a Hi-Tech Torpedo/Sub eat-in-take-out facility using Meecha(sp) bread and another bread named Maraketa from Chile. Anyway... anyone that has the best suggestion gets a free samitch when open. Whopee!

Comments I lived at Albrook from 79-82 and attened 6th grade at Diablo Elem and 7th and 8th grade at Curundu JHS. Comments Hi Everyone, I found your website as I was assisting my daughter with a Spanish project (History of Panama Canal). I am 3rd generation family from Gatun and Colon. Although born in Colon, I was raised and educated in the US. My family is part of Panama's history, especially activity on the Panama Canal. I have many cousins both here and still in Panama that were probably some of your classmates. This is an excellent website! I plan to share it, and visit it often. Thank you for restoring the family culture which I grew up knowing, but was not able to savor the actual moments of enjoying the company of daily life. I plan to visit soon with my children, mom and friends; this was the encouragement needed to make those plans sooner than later. I am one of the oldest 3rd generation Modestins, and I'm not aware of any cousins who attended BHS, but I'm quite sure your paths have crossed a family member if you visited the Atlantic side or worked with a family member on one of the locks. Comments hello everyone! My parents lived in the canal zone for quite a time! My brother Jason and I was born there in 1974. My father helped rebuild the Canal. His name is Hal Gibson and my Mom is Helen Gibson. My father fathers name is Noel Gibson, he has since passed. He is survived by Trudy Gibson. I am hoping to meet or hear from someone who would have known my mother and father. Hal and Helen Gibson!

Comments Assigned to CZ from 1958-1962 both at Fort Kobbe and Fort Clayton. Best tour I ever had. It will never be the same but I would like to make a return trip within the next year or so.
Does anyone know of a Retired CZ'er Assn? A minister friend of mine, who did his vicarage at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Balboa died the past week. His family woud like to contact a few of his friends from CZ days, if we can locate them.Any help would be appreciated.
